Are you in a Primary presidency, or are you a Primary chorister? These books have been written especially for you. The first book, 2018 Primary Theme Book, is the essential one for Primary presidencies. It has helps for planning the year, tips for the children’s program, and – count ’em – two sharing time ideas for every month. Some of the sharing time ideas help you do suggested activities from the Outline, and some reinforce scriptures or ideas from the Outline. I’ve been a chorister, counselor, and president in Primary, and have also taught every age group in 40+ years in Primary callings. I like to use use things that have helped me, as well as being easy and quick to prepare. Click the images to go to my gloriannemuggli.com website page, where you will be directed to Amazon to purchase the books.
The 2018 Outline doesn’t seem to be available on the lds.org website yet. On the curriculum page, it still says “Available Soon.” It’s there, though (in the Gospel Library), and I got a link to it from somebody on Facebook a little while ago. Since then, I’ve been busy working on books for the 2018 theme. The theme is “I Am a Child of God,” and the Outline material is available here in chapter form. If you want it, go there, and you can copy and paste to get the Outline.
This week I have two FREE downloads for you! They are both about Presidents of the LDS/Mormon Church. They can be used in class, for sharing time, for singing time, for Family Home Evening, or for general use. One has games and activities that can be used to teach about each of the presidents, and the other one is a kit that can be used for all kinds of guessing and matching games. It has pictures, numbers (order of service), facts, names, and signatures for all the presidents, along with suggestions on how to use the kit.
You’ve probably seen those cute puppets people make with paper bags. They’re easy and inexpensive to make. The problem is finding some to make, or making them yourself, right?
Well, here’s a FREE book download with literally dozens of paper puppets you can make. There are scripture characters, animals, and even objects such as scriptures. Just print off the one or two pages needed. Follow the instructions to color, cut out, and mount the pieces with tape or glue onto the paper bags, and you have your own paper bag puppet!
When you want to tell your child (or your class or the whole Primary) about Jesus Christ and some of the miraculous things He did, what better way than to use some of the stories contained in these 3 kits? Kit #1 has His baptism by John and the Temptation. Kit #2 contains the stories of Jesus calling His apostles. Kit #3 tells about the marriage at Cana and the woman at the well.
At my house, where I live with my daughter and her family, I prepare the figures by laminating them and putting hook velcro on the backs, and after telling my little grandsons the stories, I let them play with the figures and tell the stories back to me using my Storyboard. They learn and remember best through play, and they enjoy retelling the stories.
