I really like what we used to call “flannelboard stories.” Except now you can use magnets, tape, or velcro board (Storyboard) to tell them, and they don’t peel off and fall on the floor. Flannel never really worked very well. Usually you use visual aids to tell a story or illustrate a concept, and since most people are visual learners, they’re pretty effective.
Pretty soon I’ll be putting up a new, improved, and exciting (well, I’m excited at least) website with FREE 2018 theme series book downloads, plus instructions to make your own Storyboard! For this week, I have two story kits that you can use for Christmas. The stories are the Nativity and the Selfish Giant, written by Oscar Wilde. Mr Wilde was a contradiction, living a less than exemplary life, but writing beautiful stories with symbols of Jesus Christ in them.
Every year for over 20 years, I’ve written books for the LDS Primary themes. There are a bunch of books every year, and I used to sell printed books to bookstores, but now I only sell them on Amazon in Kindle format, with free pdf and Word downloads for printing and/or editing, depending on the book. It’s almost the end of the year, so I’m putting the current 2017 ones up as free downloads. You may still be able to use them, and they serve as samples so you can see what the books are like in case you’re thinking of purchasing the new ones for 2018. Anyway, here they are – just follow the links to get your FREE downloads.
